Washing your face is a key aspect of maintaining good hygiene and good skin. Whether or not you choose to wash in the morning, at night, or both, it is essential to cleanse your face of all the toxins and impurities it has gathered throughout the day. We at Risen have had our fair share of experiences with face washes, so this month, we’re coming at you with our recommendations and reviews!
Brand: The Body Shop
Name: Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash ($15.00, €12.69)
Originally, I bought this face wash for my younger sister, due to the fact that she has extremely dry skin and this was recommended by the employee I spoke with. I never planned on using it, but I’m glad I changed my mind. Paired with my spin brush, the wash provides a deep clean without making my skin feel dry and tight afterwards because of the vitamin E it contains. Before I used it, I had a few bumps on my forehead. After a couple of uses, my forehead was almost clear! The only downside to this product to me would be the price, though that may just be because of my own personal experience, as my brother likes to use it as well and the product ends up going quick. I definitely recommend this facial wash for those with normal to dry skin. Rating: 5/5 stars
Name: Simple Skincare Foaming Cleanser ($5.99, €5.15)
This was one of the first face washes I bought. Granted it wasn’t of much use to me back then, as I didn’t have the same problems with my skin as I do now, but I am still glad I bought it. Although I don’t normally like foaming cleansers because I feel like they’re too light, I had to make do. This extremely gentle product is perfect for people with very sensitive skin.I had a couple bumps on my face and I noticed that while this cleanser did clear my face, it took a little longer than some other brands because of its formula. This is a great product for people with sensitive skin, but for me, it’ll stay put as my backup.
Name: Kale Detox Deep Cleansing Face Wash ($10, €8.60)
While I haven't had this face wash for a very long time, I have definitely seen improvements in my skin after using this! It's designed for people with oily, acne-prone skin, so it's great for my skin. After using this wash, my face always feels so clean and smooth. Plus, it's cruelty free and vegan friendly!

Name: go360° Clean Ideal Clean ($4.59, €3.95)
I've been using this face wash about once a week since the beginning of summer and it works wonders. It clears up my acne within just a few days and it's exfoliating (hence the weekly usage instead of daily), so it's a sort of two-in-one for me. It also comes with a little textured plastic pad that you can use to apply the face wash. The only downside is that L’Oreal tests on animals, despite what their website says.Rate: 4/5 stars
